About the Role
The role reports to the CEO and will be part of the executive management team at Tabadlab. The successful candidate will build and lead an advisory portfolio spanning distinct areas across Tabadlab’s priorities. The portfolio management approach at Tabadlab covers an integrated focus on strategy, project delivery, business growth, research and insights, people management, and ecosystem linkages. This role carries P&L responsibilities and will focus on strengthening Tabadlab’s market leadership across the portfolio.
The candidate will be expected to assume ownership of the following:
Project Delivery – Lead the project lifecycle from design to close-out with high effectiveness and efficiency. Manage and optimise the project portfolio to ensure high client satisfaction, innovative approaches, a focus on impact-aligned metrics, high-quality outputs, timely delivery, and alignment with Tabadlab’s strategic objectives.
Strategy and Growth – Conceive and develop a future-ready pipeline to grow the portfolio by deepening work with existing clients and exploring new segments, markets and service/product lines. Establish streamlined processes and relationships to work with stakeholders across the organisation to close opportunities aligned to business targets. Own key client relationships for portfolio growth through disciplined planning and management.
People and Culture – Co-lead the recruitment, onboarding, and growth of the portfolio team to create accelerated pathways for upskilling, reskilling, and progression through a mix of structured and unstructured development opportunities. Contribute actively to adopting and strengthening the culture of excellence, integrity, and purpose at Tabadlab. Work with internal and external experts (non-resident) to create optimal delivery teams for high performance across the portfolio.
Ecosystem Engagement – Establish and grow linkages (local and international), relationships, and partnerships with stakeholders across federal and provincial governments, development partners, industry and sector experts, academia and knowledge houses, existing and potential client segments, and service providers.
Domain Knowledge – Establish demonstrable leadership in at least two to three domains by developing deep knowledge of vertical/horizontal fundamentals. Stay current with the local and international developments, trends, policies, regulations, governance frameworks, data regimes, sector insights, and interdisciplinary opportunities.
Research and Insights – Lead the conceptualisation, research and analysis, design, and publication of knowledge products aligned to the thematic priorities of the portfolio. Work with the communications team to democratise insights from these products, ensuring they inform decisions and actions across relevant stakeholders.
Workflows – Innovate existing workflows using design thinking, technology tools, and disruptive resourcing practices to ensure compliance with Tabadlab and client principles for responsible and ethical work products.
Cross-organisation Leadership – Work with all teams and functions to advance firm-wide initiatives, strengthen systems and structures, and support shared outputs that enhance Tabadlab’s brand and performance.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field – business administration, management sciences, public policy/administration, economics, social sciences, or related disciplines.
Experience and Skills
Relevant experience of 10+ years with demonstrable success in advisory/consulting, including ownership of revenue targets and senior client relationships.
Proven track record in building and closing pipelines, negotiating engagements, and delivering portfolio-level outcomes.
Demonstrated experience across sectors/industries with multi-dimensional skillset covering research, data and analytics, strategy, management consulting, public sector development, social programmes etc.
Excellent writing, presentations, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

About the Role
The role reports to Director Advisory and is part of the management team at Tabadlab. The successful candidate will manage the delivery and growth of an advisory portfolio aligned with Tabadlab’s priorities by translating portfolio direction into strong execution across project delivery, business growth, research and insights, ecosystem engagement, and team management. The role serves as the anchor layer to enable the Director to lead the portfolio of projects and products.
The candidate will be expected to assume ownership of the following:
Project Delivery – Develop and meticulously implement the portfolio workplan spanning multiple projects. Manage resourcing, scheduling of outputs and deliverables, client and partner interactions, and ensure seamless information flow and coordination across moving parts to support high-quality and timely delivery.
Team Management and Development – Manage the onboarding and development of the portfolio team through tailored work allocation, on-the-job training, access to upskilling, exposure to coaching, external engagements, and personalised feedback routines.
